In 2005, MSM was awarded the first of its kind contract to manage the maintenance of Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) assets. An In-Service Support Division was formed to ensure the contract KPI, being at least 60% operationability of the assets, were met.
In 2010, the division had 5 regional and 18 district offices across Malaysia, spanning from the far reaches of Tok Bali to Tawau. The division is manned marine technical specialists, maritime project engineers and project managers who plan the rigorous maintenance schedules required by the MMEA vessels as well as coordinate the outsourcing of the maintenance works to shipyards, engineering vendors and Original Equipment Manufacturers. MSM safeguards the quality of works carried out on the vessels, thus ensuring that Malaysia coastline enforcement patrols are always at its most efficient.
Apart from this, MSM also handles that development and management of documentation and maintenance data, planning of configuration management as well as perform condition amd heath monitoring of the equipment on board the vessels.
